katt williams arrested for burglary

Over the years comedian Katt Williams has been known to entertain legions of fans across America for his standup routines and movie roles. However, on Sunday night, the 38-year-old 'Friday After Next' star managed to land his latest role as an Atlanta burglar.

The fledgling numismatist has been charged with burglary and criminal trespassing following his arrest Sunday night in Atlanta for allegedly breaking into a house with a crowbar and stealing roughly $3,555 in cash and rare coins.

According to Coweta County Sheriff's Office Major James Yarbrough, an unidentified homeowner in the Southwest Atlanta suburb called authorities around 9 p.m. to report the comedian gained entry by breaking into the residence and stealing various items including jewelry.

Bail was set at $41,000 and Williams, whose latest stand-up feature, Katt Williams: Pimpadelic, was a top-10 seller on DVD last month, remained in custody on Monday afternoon, according to an officer at Coweta County Jail.

New York police allegedly found three guns in his car a year ago, not long before Williams was hospitalized for a psychiatric evaluation, but the case hit a roadblock and the charges were ultimately dropped.
