Even if the next American Idol isn't the one you vote for this season, feel comforted that one star has already emerged and has been overwhelmingly embraced by America.  General Larry Platt's Pants on the Ground words have become stuck in so many people's heads, that it's rare you don't hear someone mumbling, humming or singing the tune out loud.  Once you see the Pants on the ground video a few times, you'll understand.

The 63-year-old civil rights veteran performed his original hit at an audition for the show's ninth season, winning over judges Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi — and earning a nervous endorsement from incurable skeptic Simon Cowell.

IF you watch the YouTube video, you will see that the performance made all of the judges laugh. It was definitely a welcomed break from the other contestants that seem to take everything very seriously.

During a radio interview, Platt explained that he came up with the song while down near a City hall street area, when he noticed a lot of individuals in the area with sagging pants.

This cultural trend often associated with hip hop gave Platt the idea to come up with his own unique tune which warns people to "get your pants off the ground" because they "looking like a fool" when they walking or talking with their pants on the ground.
